Xmas dinner

This year's Christmas dinner is likely to be a little Chinese takeout, but last year, I apparently made a fortifying meal of beans and wieners using Stan Gregory's recipe - it's my standard now.  

It's true

The simplest of things produce the purest joys. 

And my mind is a constant font of such joys.

Grilled Blackened Bananas

Angelika did some grilling yesterday.  Earlier in the day, it was suggested to her - from a woman she was skyping with in Germany that she try grilling bananas with chocolat.  She did.  And this was the result.  She deposited dark chocolate in a slit in the bananas.   Good good, good it was, although I think I'd prefer milk chocolate.
I don't use Instagram, but for those folks unaccustomed to looking at online photos of food that aren't affectedly fucked up in some psuedo-fartsy way, I've posted an Instagram facsimile below.

Siamese grapes

There's got to be a culture somewhere in the world that considers an occurrence such as this a portent of fortuitous times to come.
A delicate procedure to separate these conjoined grapes was unsuccessful and both twins succumbed--TO MY TUMMY!
